Adrian graduated from the University of Canberra in 1993 with a Bachelor of Architecture. He worked for a number of years in the Canberra region before moving to Sydney in 1997. He was registered with the NSW Architects Registration Board in 2005.
For the first 20 years of his career Adrian worked for a number of Australia’s most recognised & award winning firms such as Woods Bagot, Group GSA, Allen Jack + Cottier, Sam Crawford Architects, WMK Architecture and Tim Allison Associates. During this time he was exposed to the commercial, education, public, multi-residential, health & aged care and sport & recreation sectors of the profession as well as private residential houses and he worked on a number of significant projects including:

After living in France for a number of years, Adrian returned to Australia in 2012 and established atarchitecture, initially as an after-hours activity to help design homes for friends & colleagues. The practice has grown to become a full time business with a number of completed projects, offices in Camperdown and several larger & exciting projects in the pipeline. As the founder and director of atarchitecture, Adrian brings to the practice a wealth of experience gained over 25+ years and applies his knowledge to each & every project in the practice. His primary design philosophy lies in the clever use of space & volume to create efficiently planned buildings filled with natural light and air. He has a passion for resolving the finest details of the design but is always mindful of the clients brief and budget. Adrian lives in Newtown with his wife and two children.
Chris graduated in 1999 from the University of Central England in Birmingham with an honours degree in architecture. He worked as an architect in the UK until he moved to Australia in 2007. Having gained his architectural education by way of part-time study, he has over 25 years of rofessional practice experience both in the UK and Australia with significant experience in all aspects of the architectural process.
Chris has held positions with several high profile practices in Australia including Allen Jack + Cottier, PMDL,Marchese, McBains Cooper, MDPA and, of course, atarchitecture. Throughout his career he has excelled in a variety of roles and across several sectors, achieving all-round knowledge & experience within the industry.
His Australian experience has provided opportunities to be involved, at varying levels, with a number of different projects types including aged care, multi-residential & education. His UK experience also covers abroad range of projects within the commercial, sports, residential and heritage sectors.
As the primary project architect at the practice, Chris is responsible for setting up and managing the documentation of all projects that we undertake. He also plays a very strategic role as a sounding board for Adrian to bounce design ideas around with and to assist with general problem-solving initiatives
